Good Things

It’s been a while since I blogged, for reasons good and bad. Now I’ve a backlog of things that I want to write about, but no time right now to do it. Instead I thought I would share with you an idea I’ve just had.

“Good Things”

Sometimes life is not as easy as we’d like it to be. Sometimes you can lose your mojo, lose that spark a little. Well, in order to counter that, I’ve come up with the idea of getting a sheet of paper and some brightly coloured pens – but wait! – that’s not all. (Although new stationery does often help!) I’m suggesting that every time something exciting happens, something special, something amazing, that makes you smile, you write it down on the piece of paper. The more happy it makes you, the bigger you write it, perhaps.

I don’t ever want to forget the incredible joy I felt yesterday, having had the honour of meeting and lunching with astronaut Leroy Chiao. That’s one of the things I need to blog about, and I will, soon. I’ve put that on my piece of paper. I think I’m going to try to do one of these every year, and hopefully, when I’m old, I’ll be able to look through a collection of sheets of paper with reminders of all the things that have made me smile over the years.

It’s just an idea. Here’s mine for 2010 so far:

Good Things 2010

Special thanks to all the people that have inspired a mark on this piece of paper. I trust that you know, and will ensure that you continue to know, who you are.

  1. Hi Kate, I got here thru Twitter and just wanted to say I love it! I’ve actually been doing something like this since the start of this year, but for every month. With this year being in its second half already, I can already look back at some nice things. And often, I find, it’s things you can make happen yourself. Anyway, great idea to blog about it and inspire others to do the same. I hope you’ll have lots of colourful things on your sheets in the future too. :) Cheers, Hanny.

  2. I love this idea Kate! I am having a ‘down-in-the-dumps’ day, and for no reason either… when I get home tonight, I am going to start the same kinda thing!
Thank you for making me smile!

  3. I write ideas down or record voice notes. It’s because if I don’t the moment has gone and they disappear into the firmament never to see the light of day.

    1. That’s what I love about AudioBoo – allows me to grab something I’m feeling before the moment passes because I don;’t have time to blog it there and then. :)

Any thoughts?
